Everything you need to know before registering your camper in Online Programming at Camp Kasota West

online programming is

We couldn't imagine a summer without camp.

That’s why our staff and management teams have been working tirelessly to develop our Online Programming alternative, which aims to bring camp to the safety of your own home!

See what others have to say about Online Programming

What is online programming?

We have done our best to adapt our on-site program to an online environment with the goal of engaging with campers, and providing entertaining games and activities for campers to participate in, all from the comfort of their home.

Just as campers do on site at Camp Kasota West, campers enrolled in online programming will participate in sessions. Each session will be roughly 40 minutes long with a 5 minute break in between, and will be led by two of our amazing counselors. These sessions range anywhere from fun and engaging games that we play at camp (and even some new ones), to physical activities to get campers moving, and even some crafts!

In a time of much stress and uncertainty, we are excited to provide our community with a source of fun from the safety of home. Though this is certainly no substitute for summer camp, we truly believe in the program that we have produced and are looking forward to sharing it with you all this summer!

How will it work?

All online programming will take place over the Zoom Video Conferencing platform. There is a free desktop program which can be downloaded from the Zoom website, or alternatively, you can use the free iOS/android app to join the meetings as well, or even the web client, meaning that no account creation or download is required to take part in online programming. If you have any issues with this you can reach out to us at onlineprogramming@campkasotawest.com and we’d be happy to assist you with any technical concerns or questions you may have.

Once you register for online programming and sign up for your sessions, we will email you with the information for the Zoom meetings which your sessions will take place in. Then on the date and time for which you are registered, you simply need to use this information to join the Zoom meeting for the correct session. Please keep in mind that session sign up is first come, first serve, and that options for sessions will be removed from sign up once they are full, so make sure you register sooner rather than later!

When will online programming take place?

We currently have 6 sessions taking place for the month of June, the schedule for which can be found here.

Depending on the age group of the camper, different dates are available for registration. The schedule is made a month at a time so be sure to stay tuned here, as well as keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook pages for future dates and programming announcements.

How much will it cost?

We at Camp Kasota West understand that in the wake of COVID-19 many families are currently experiencing a time of economic hardships. We also believe that it every child should have the opportunity to experience camp and enjoy quality programming, now more than ever. With this in mind, Camp Kasota West’s Online Program for the summer of 2020 will be completely free. Simply register for the time slot and sessions of your choosing, show up to the Zoom meeting and have fun!
